Adrian Matt Zytkoskee

Electronic Sound Bath

AboutAt the heart of Dr. Matt’s life is art. In all its forms. He has played music since childhood, beginning with mandolin and guitar and, in recent years, weaving in the tonal vibrations of sound healing instruments. He first discovered singing bowls through a hospital program designed to provide emotional support for cancer patients, a profoundly moving experience that changed his life journey. Nearly a decade later, he has led hundreds of sound baths in hospitals, schools, community centers, and universities, uniquely blending Tibetan and crystal bowls with looping guitar and mandolin to create immersive, meditative soundscapes. His path as an artist has long intertwined with his work as a teacher and writer. Now a university professor specializing in reflective writing for trauma and grief support, Dr. Matt views both music and writing as ways of helping others find relief and healing through creative expression.

Piece: The beauty of sound healing instruments is that they exist in the borderlands of music, physiology, and spirituality. “Between Waves and Dreams” interweaves Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gong, and chimes with ambient looping guitar to create a unique soundscape. An East-meets-West dreamland. The performance is primarily improvisational, allowing the music to respond to the space and those within it. Listeners often describe the experience as deeply calming, even sedative. Inshallah, you will experience something similar.
